Workshops at ICS '99

Workshop 2:

Cluster-Based Computing

June 20, 1999

ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS
Cluster-based computing platforms offer the potential for high performance at low cost by exploiting program parallelism across multiple commodity uniprocessors. This new computing paradigm offers a number of interesting research areas, such as operating systems for clustered computers, support for clusters of SMP's, and application tuning on clustered machines. This workshop will explore recent developments in this field, presenting many preliminary results from work which has not yet been published elsewhere.

Abstracts are solicited for presentation in all areas related to cluster-based computing, including, but not limited to:

Abstracts should be approximately 500 words in length, ASCII text only. Please e-mail the abstracts to conference co-chairs, Nicholas Carter and Steven Lumetta, at cluster@crhc.uiuc.edu. Authors of accepted abstracts will be asked to prepare 5-page papers for distribution at the workshop.
Deadlines:
Abstract Submission: April 26, 1999
Acceptance Notification: May 7, 1999
5-Page Final Papers: May 24, 1999
